As a new organization, we plan to build a facility where wild animals will be cared for until they can be released back into the wild. At this time, we are caring for animals in our homes. However, the goal for ATW is to have a rehabilitation facility where the overwhelming number of injured, wounded, and orphaned animals from Austin and surrounding ares of Central Texas can receive state-of-the-art treatment and care.
We need several acres of land on which to build a rehabilitation facility. The facility will also be used to provide medical treatment and care for injured, wounded, and orphaned wild animals. In addition to a facility for rehabilitating the animals, we plan to construct an Education Center where adults and children can learn about wildlife. In conjunction with our education center, we plan to work with area high schools to provide a grade-based agricultural program for wild animals. Future plans also include a college intern program with on-site housing.
